IT infrastructures protection upgrading

The COVID-19 experience which could potentially compromise the continuity of the ordinary EPES operation in the first months of 2020, has increased the awareness of people who must be able to carry out their ordinary, and not only, activities by remote, without loosing the efficiency requested for the management of strategical energy infrastructures.

BFP is powering the IT architecture of its premises in order to avoid all  technical issues as much as possible, equipping its systems with more sophisticated VPN connections and firewall systems. The participation to Phoenix project will be not only an opportunity, it will become a  crucial event because it will reasonable allow to apply in a term, for sure shorter than what originally expected, new tools able to reach a high level of cyber security.

Our main customers request a continuous updating about the project evolution since they are fully aware that an efficient performance of their infrastructure and the large use of SCADA systems and smart meters cannot overlook a strong improvement of the protection systems of their IT infrastructures and networks.

At the end of the project, when the solutions proposed by the technical partners involved in Phoenix project will get a good TRL, BFP will be glad to inform its main wind turbines suppliers and EPC partners about the achieved results for beginning an experimentation in order to make the systems more safe and protected from cyberattacks and cyber-issues in general.
