The PHOENIX team is happy to announce that our latest work in network intrusion detection has been published online in Information, MDPI.

On May 25. 2021, Dr. Theodore Zahariadis, PHOENIX Technical Manager, represented PHOENIX in the 12th International Conference “Days of Corporate Security”.

The Cybersecurity Innovation Cluster will have its kick-off meeting on June 4th, 2021. The cluster has been organized under the auspices of H2020 projects PHOENIX, SDN microSENSE, CyberSEAS, EnergyShield and ELECTRON as an independent initiative, supervised by the European Commission.

The transition to electric mobility is giving rise to new threats and new opportunities for the electricity grid, in this regard smart charging management system (SCMS) have been developed with the aim of creating significant benefits by coordinating the charging of electric vehicles with the management systems of the power grid; however, if not properly protected, this collaboration can create various problems due to cyber-attacks.

PHOENIX project will also be present at this year’s Enlit Europe from 30 November to 2 December 2021 in Milan, Italy. It is one of Europe’s largest exhibition addressing energy-related issues. We will use this opportunity to disseminate the latest findings and project results in front of a large audience of relevant stakeholders and raise awareness for cybersecurity and the challenges ahead.

Sharing CTI information has been recognized worldwide as a significant step in fighting against cybersecurity breaches. What if, instead of sharing plain cybersecurity incident data, EPES could receive coordinated or cascading context of cyber-attacks at pan-European level? The PHOENIX Incidents Information Sharing Platform (I2SP) employs AI methods to achieve this.

ITER project aims at commercial level power production (Q factor > 10) from hydrogen nuclear fusion to helium using magnetic confinement of plasma in a tokamak type nuclear reactor.

[9 of May 2021] In the news today; Alpharetta, Georgia-based Colonial Pipeline has been (successfully) targeted and taken down by a Ransomware attack, threating the transportation of 2.5 million barrels a day (up to 45% of the USA East Coast’s supply of diesel, gasoline and jet fuel). As a direct consequence, critical assets like fuel pipelines has been shut down and pump prices can be increased in the USA.
